Wayne Rooney goes beast mode

Wayne Rooney created two moments of magic in the 96th-minute to win the match for his side DC United against Orlando City last night. That’s right it was 2-2 and DC United had a corner in the sixth and final minute of their home match.

DC’s corner was cleared up to the half-way line and with the possibility of Orlando breaking and scoring a winner themselves, Rooney charged back and made an unbelievable tackle to stop them Will Johnson.

Not content with that, Rooney then charged forward with the ball at his feet down the right-hand side and put in a long cross-field ball to the back post. The cross found Luciano Acosta at the back post and he headed in the winner with seconds remaining to send the stadium wild. It was also Acosta’s third goal of the night, so he completed his hat-trick too. What a moment.

DC United 3 v Orlando City 2.
