Funny! Leeds United are one of the most hated and loathed team in England, but why? For many teams and their fans the hatred started in the 60s and 70s with a true rivalry with ‘Super Leeds’.
For the majority the hatred began with rivals such as Manchester United, Chelsea and of course Liverpool, with local rivals like Huddersfield, Bradford, Hull all disliking them too.
There’s no doubting that this feeling is still widespread among fans of a whole range of different clubs. Seems like pretty much every time I am watching a live match on TV, if you listen to the crowd then at some point you can hear them singing “we all hate Leeds scum” repeatedly. Even when they’re playing totally different opposition.
