In this modern day when sport is becoming nothing more than a medium through which the rich can get richer, people complain that there are no more instances where teams actually reach out to their supporters.

Tottenham Hotspur have gone a long way to erase those doubts as they gave one special fan, a memory of a lifetime. At half-time during their last game of the season, Spurs invited eight-year-old Marshall Janson on the pitch at White Hart Lane for a kick-about with the substitutes who were warming up on the pitch.

This is a moment that any eight-year old would remember for the rest of his life, but for Marshall, things are a bit more special when you realise that he lost all his limbs due to meningitis. The brave young man looked overjoyed to have had this opportunity to play with his idols and I’m sure he’s still in cloud nine.
