Dejan Lovren missed his penalty against Besiktas after a woeful attempt that went high and wide of the goal
Dejan Lovren’s disastrous start to his Liverpool career hit a new low as the 25 year old defender skied Liverpool’s last penalty kick to send the Reds crashing out of the UEFA Europa League after they lost 5-4 on penalties to Besiktas. The tie at the Ataturk stadium in Istanbul ended 1-0 in favour of Besiktas, which meant that the scores were 1-1 on aggregate. The ensuing penalty shootout was won by Besiktas after Lovren, who was Liverpool’s final kick taker sent an awful penalty high and wide of the goal. His humiliating moment is being ruthlessly fed upon by the media after a hilarious Vine of the player’s kick went viral. The video shows Lovren’s dismal attempt hit Madonna on the head due to which she topples over a small flight of steps during her performance on Wednesday night’s BRIT awards.
