RIP Graham Taylor

Some sad news as we hear former England football manager Graham Taylor has passed away. The ex Watford, Villa, Wolves manager too has died from a suspected heart attack at the age of 72, his family has announced:

“With the greatest sadness, we have to announce that Graham passed away at his home early this morning of a suspected heart attack. The family are devastated by this sudden and totally unexpected loss.”

He managed England between 1990 and 1993 but had to resigning after failing to qualify for the 1994 World Cup. Prior to that he became a legendary figure at Villa after leading them from Division Two to runners-up in Division One in the late 1980s. Where arguably they should have won the league when they were five or six points clear towards the end of the season.

He first established himself at Watford though, where he did an incredible job over a ten-year period, taking them from the old Fourth Division to the First Division in just five years.

The world of football has been taken aback by the sad news and all that’s been heard is how much of a nice gentleman he was. RIP Graham Taylor.
