Football players today are extremely talented, and not just when it comes to activities on the pitch. Many footballers these days are musicians, scholars and actors. Eric Cantona is one such icon whose fame transcended the football world and entered into the world of cinema.
And 18 years since Cantona hung up his boots, another United legend has made his acting debut, although the result hasn’t been too glorious. Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney starred in an advert for the latest X-Men film, X-Men Apocalypse. The former Everton man does a rather questionable job in the advert as he seen being recruited by Professor Charles Xavier. Rooney’s acting skills have lead to a lot of jokes and I can only feel for the Englishman who needs to be given credit for trying something that he isn’t good at.
