The ‘keeper sent the ball flying and sent his forward on a one on one at the other end
The goalkeeper is supposed to be the most important position in the game of football. The one player who stands between the opposition and the goal is a team’s last line of defence. But in this one epic scenario, the goalkeeper played the role of playmaker by creating a fantastic goal scoring opportunity for his forward.
Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand set up his striker in a one on one situation down the other end of the pitch after throwing, yes, you read that right, throwing the ball out. The gargantuan throw sailed over the heads of almost all the players on the pitch and almost became one of the most unbelievable assists to have ever been seen in the game. Unfortunately though, the attacker was thwarted by a last ditch tackle from the opposition’s last man.
